An extraordinary exhibition dedicated to the Pollaiolo brothers, one of the most important held by the Poldi Pezzoli Museum with the support of Bracco Foundation, in Milan from November 7, 2014 to February 16, 2015.
The focus of the exhibition are the four ladies ascribed to Antonio and Piero del Pollaiolo which, for the first time in history, will be united in a single exhibition, the star of which is the famous Portrait of a Lady, one of the greatest masterpieces of Florentine portrait work of the second half of the 15th century and the symbol of the Milanese Museum.
Besides the work belonging to the Poldi Pezzoli, on show will be portraits of women from museums in Berlin, New York and Florence.
The exhibition will also present a series of paintings, sculptures, drawings, engravings, gold and embroidery of great quality, showing the breadth and complexity of the talent of Antonio del Pollaiolo and his workshop. The topics of high craftsmanship, the excellence of made in Italy and the world of women will be the corollary of the exhibition, which aims to enthuse national and international visitors also with an eye to Expo 2015.
