Simone De Leo, winner of the research scholarship with NIAF

Simone De Leo, born in 1986 in Bari, with a degree in medicine and surgery obtained in 2012 at the Milan Università degli Studi, currently engaged in a specialisation course in endocrinology at the Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico di Milano, is the winner of the research scholarship in collaboration with NIAF (National Italian American Foundation), of the value of $100,000.

Simone is about to leave for Boston in the United States to carry out a research project at the Thyroid Health Centre of the University of Boston, dedicated to evaluating the level of awareness of the risks of iodine deficiency in the diet of pregnant women.

Simone will have the chance to work under the direction of professor Lewis E. Braverman, one of the world’s leading experts in the thyroid and its functioning, who spoke at the appointment on October 6, 2014 “Iodine, nutrition in pregnancy: a project for life” in the cycle Bracco Foundation meets, watch the video!
