Bracco Foundation celebrates women

Bracco Foundation celebrates International Women's Day with the festival dedicated to taste, melodies and wellness, with a thematic and interdisciplinary approach designed to discover the beneficial properties of wine.

Modern studies in biochemistry have scientifically established that grapes can bring significant benefits to human health. In fact, a moderate assumption of alcohol in the form of wine has been widely recognized as a protective factor in many chronic degenerative diseases, most importantly in the cardiovascular field. Much research is under way to develop pharmacological principles from the skins and seeds of grapes, for the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Professor Fulvio Ursini, one of the most famous Italian scientists in the biochemistry of the phenomena of aging and oxidative stress, and also a well known expert in medical and nutritional aspects related to wine, spoke on the subject "wine and health" with particular attention to female gender.

After this the scientific analysis, an engaging musical interlude was offered: a duet of two students of the course for opera singers of the Teatro alla Scala accompanied on the piano, celebrating wine and love with arias by maestros Giuseppe Verdi arias and Pietro Mascagni .

The last stop on the itinerary was the encounter with two of the most famous protagonists of Piedmonte: the Barbera and Cortese from the Il Botolo estate, commented by Andrea Grignaffini , creative director of Spirito diVino and consultant and ALMA lecturer at the International School of Italian Cuisine.
