Bracco Foundation awards 11 scholarships for training and scientific research

In 2011 Bracco Foundation is awarding 11 scholarships to students, recent graduates and researchers.

The Foundation is enthusiastically renewing the offer of scholarships for university students living in the Municipalities surrounding the Bracco Imaging factory in Ceriano Laghetto.

The 2010 competition offered for the first time six scholarships to students on the first three-year course (three for humanistic faculties and three for scientific faculties) for a total value of 18,000 Euro, and for reserved for students of the second two-year course or on the fourth or fifth year of the degree course in scientific faculties (biology, biotechnologies, chemistry, industrial chemistry, pharmacy and pharmaceutical technologies, engineering, environmental sciences) each of 1500 Euro.

Winners on the two-year course were:

Noemi Veraldi, Solaro, on the second year of the two-year industrial biotechnologies course

Sabrina Paro, Ceriano Laghetto, on the fourth year of the chemistry and pharmaceutical technologies five-year course

Davide Cremonesi, Cogliate, on the first year of the two-year chemical sciences course

Andrea Basilico, Solaro, on the first year of the two-year computer engineering course

Winners from the three-year humanistic course were:

Federico Croci, Cesano Maderno, second year of philosophy

Arianna Benesso, Cesano Maderno, second year of linguistic and cultural mediation

Antonietta D'Amicis, Solaro, first year of technical and psychological sciences

Winners from the three-year scientific course were:

Dario Baccellieri, Cesano Maderno, third year of telecommunications engineering

Mara Lelii, Cesano Maderno, third year of medicine and surgery

Tommaso Zana, Bovisio Masciago, third year of physics.

With the aim of playing an active role in the training of young people, Bracco Foundation promoted the first edition of the Cav. Lav. Fulvio Bracco Prize, aimed at young research doctors or scientific graduates with at least three years of experience in a research structure.

A Commission made up of illustrious scientific personalities, the President of the Foundation Diana Bracco and the Director of the Bracco Research Centre Fulvio Uggeri, selected the most deserving candidate, offering the chance of a three-year contract with the Bracco Research Centre: Dr Giuseppina Catanzaro.
