Background
Bracco Foundation has been running the “Culture and Health” project for some years now. It is aimed at evaluating the impact that cultural participation has on the perception of individual psychological well-being.
racco Foundation celebrates International Women’s Day with a festival of taste, melodies and good health, in a thematic and multidisciplinary approach designed to discover the beneficial properties of wine.
Youth unemployment is today a real problem in Europe and, above all, in Italy. However, Bracco Foundation believes that the spreading of awareness and abilities to compete in the global jobs market can help to improve the system.
Correct lifestyles, culture and the intelligent use of free time have assumed an increasingly important value and role. The perception of one’s well-being depends on a plurality of factors not exclusively related to material elements but rather to aspects linked to lifestyle, the chance for cultural enrichment and the time dedicated to one’s body.
Recent development of Company Foundations, difficulties in the Italian and international economic contexts, a shrinking capacity for public investment in safeguarding and developing cultural and scientific knowledge, the need for a new lines of policy making.
racco Foundation was official sponsor of the exhibition “Venice, Canaletto and his rivals”, organised at the Washington National Gallery of Art from February 20th to May 30th 2011, which presented to the American public 20 paintings by Canaletto and 33 by his most important contemporaries, including Gaspare Vanvitelli, Luca Carlevarijs, Michele Marieschi, Bernardo Bellotto and Francesco Guardi.
After the first appointment on March 8, 2010, “Diagnosis and prevention, friends of women”, Bracco Foundation organised and promoted the following year, again on International Woman’s Day, the convention “Women and psychological well-being: lifestyles, health and culture”.
Many company Foundations, which often express the wishes and values of a family company, choose cultural activities as their preferred instrument, in the conviction that the growth of civilised society is largely supported by culture.
n the science and culture area, Bracco Foundation pays particular attention to the subjects of diagnosis, prevention, personalised medicine and the study of the interrelations between health and social and cultural problems. The “gender question” is one of its fundamental missions.
