Press presentation of major exhibition: “Piero della Francesca. The Augustinian Polyptych reunited”

On Tuesday 19 March 2024, a press conference was held on the eve of the opening of the exhibition, “Piero della Francesca. The Augustinian Polyptych reunited,” at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan.

With support from the Bracco Foundation, which is its Main Partner, the exhibition opened to the public on 20 March 2024 and runs until 24 June. It will be the first time in the 555 years since they were painted that the eight panels of Piero della Francesca’s 1469 polyptych for the Augustinian church of Borgo San Sepolcro have been brought back together.

In addition to hearing from the Chair of the Bracco Foundation, Diana Bracco, the press conference also heard from: Gian Giacomo Attolico Trivulzio, President of the Poldi Pezzoli Art Foundation; Alessandra Quarto, Director of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum; Assessore Francesca Caruso, Head of the Department of Culture of the Region of Lombardy; Assessore Tommaso Sacchi, Head of the Department of Culture of the City of Milan; Michele Coppola, Executive Director of Art, Culture and Historic Heritage of Intesa Sanpaolo; the Director of Galleria d'Italia, Xavier Salomon; Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Frick Collection, Peter Jay Sharp; and the curators of the exhibition, Machtelt Brüggen Istraëls and Nathaniel Silver.
