Training programme for young international radiologists

As part of the Diventrò project, the Bracco Foundation is sponsoring training courses in Italy for young foreign radiologists, who will thus enjoy the opportunity of working with Italy's excellent healthcare facilities.

After China and the United States, the Bracco Foundation is the main partner of Sociedade Paulista de Radiologia e Diagnóstico por Imagem (SPR),Sociedad Mexicana de Radiología e Imagen (SMRI) , and Federación Mexicana de Radiología e Imagen (FMRI) (radiology and diagnostic imaging associations).

The seven successful applicants for the training courses of 2024 will spend time in Italy in specialist studies, learning more about the main diagnostic imaging methodologies and cutting-edge science.

Each radiologist, accompanied by a mentor, will receive training at Ospedale Gaslini in Genoa, Spedali riuniti in Brescia and, in Milan, three hospitals: Niguarda, San Raffaele and Policlinico.

On the first day of their stay in Milan the young radiologists visited CDI-Centro Diagnostico Italiano, where they were introduced to some of the most modern technology available to the clinic, such as the Cyberknife, a radiosurgical robot for the treatment of tumours. They also viewed the photographic exhibition at the clinic's offices on Via Saint Bon: “Colpo di scena. Dalla A di attrezzista alla S di scultrice” [Plot Twist: From A for Artisan toolmaker to S for sculptress] set up by the Bracco Foundation in collaboration with Accademia del Teatro alla Scala and running until 30 June.

For the visiting radiologists, the programme envisages not just a scientific experience but also full immersion in Italian life and culture. This is one way in which the Bracco Foundation and the Bracco Group help promote "Italianness" in the world.
