The Mind the STEM Gap-Together exhibition in schools and online

The “Mind the STEM Gap – Together” exhibition goes on tour and online. Take your own tour here!
The poster-manifesto exhibition is the work of 150 students who participated in “Mind the STEM Gap”, a project run by the Bracco Foundation to encourage girls and women to enter the sciences. The result is an extraordinary gallery of posters, displayed both as a physical and as a virtual online exhibition, that have some surprising and insightful takes on gender discrimination and its effects on society.

THE VIRTUAL EXHIBITION

One of the schools involved in the project, Istituto Einstein, of the town of Vimercate, designed the online version of this eclectic and though-provoking exhibition, which may thus be visited at any time from anywhere.

EXHIBITION ON TOUR AROUND SCHOOLS

From 15 September to 30 November 2023, the exhibition began a tour of various secondary schools in Lombardy. The first school to play host was Istituto Albe Steiner in Milan, with its community of 1,100 students, staff and teachers. Each member of this school community can contribute to the discussion of this crucial topic by "adopting a favourite poster and disseminating it online" as part of a social media campaign to spread the exhibition’s message.

On 2 October 2023, the exhibition travelled on to ISS Viganò in Merate, which is one of the key secondary school participating in the project. News of the rest of the tour will follow.

This educational and cultural project is the brainchild of the Bracco Foundation, which is curating it in partnership with @Politecnico di Milano and @Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, with support from @Regione Lombardia, which invited project proposals as part of its “Together” programme.
