The Bracco Foundation partners with the UNESCO Virtual Science Museum

Bracco Foundation is a partner of the UNESCO Virtual Museum of Science, a global digital platform – literally a museum without borders – set up under the aegis of UNESCO as part of the International decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (2024–2033) to promote open, inclusive and reliable access to scientific knowledge.

The platform aims to strengthen STEM education, scientific outreach, and inclusivity by offering access to information, educational resources, knowledge, and archival materials from institutions and museums worldwide.

The Bracco Foundation’s contribution, which consists of portraits and biographies of  five great contemporary Italian women scientists, is to be found under the “Women in Science” section. Bracco  selected  the five names from  among those included  in Una vita da scienziata [Life as a Woman Scientist], a photographic exhibition first mounted in 2019 to showcase female excellence in scientific research.

The five photographic portraits  by the renowned photographer Gerald Bruneau feature Patrizia Azzi, Patrizia Caraveo, Caterina La Porta, Luisa Torsi and Paola Velardi, who now join the UNESCO Museum's virtual galleries and thus give global voice to the Bracco Foundation’s message of gender equality in the sciences.
