Audiovisual Napoli Hub: A cultural training project

Audiovisual Napoli Hub is the name of the Naples-based project presented on Saturday 24 February 2024 at the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II.

This free-of-charge course of professional training in the field of audiovisual and cinema production is designed for 80 young people aged 18-29 who live in Naples and are at risk of social, cultural and economic marginalization (so-called “NEETs”).

The University of Naples Federico II contributed by converting over 200 square metres of its premises at the Department of Social Sciences on Vico Monte della Pietà, where the project is being hosted. The 80 young unemployed participants will be joined by 20 Social Science students in a stimulating course for future camera operators, video editors, video makers, sound engineers and sound designers.

The Bracco Foundation, a long-time investor in top-tier training courses through its multi-year and multidisciplinary "ProgettoDiventrò” programme, is lending strong support to the project. Access to knowledge is indispensable not only for the development of the single human but also for the balanced advancement of an entire country, and culture is a strategic sector in which to invest energies in furtherance of the aim of securing learning as a right. Accademia Teatro alla Scala, of which the Bracco Foundation is a Founding Member and Main Partner, is providing the project expertise and training.
