Among the young winners of the Lifebility Award is Paola, for Bracco Foundation

The third edition of the Lions Committee Lifebility Award, a national competition for young people under 30 for innovative social projects and ideas, was a great success!

Many projects arrived this year from all over Italy, photographing a country in which young people imagine the future and step forward to give their ideas concrete form: because of the values and aims of the competition, Bracco Foundation decided this year to support the Lifebility Award, which offers not only cash prizes but internships and help with start-up.

Among the young winners, Paola Canonico from Pisa, born in 1986, will benefit from the support of our Foundation which, as well as a cash prize, is offering her the chance of a six-month internship at the Bracco Research Centre in Ivrea.

Paola, who in December 2012, soon after obtaining a specialist degree in pharmaceutical chemistry and technologies, qualified as a pharmacist, entered the Lifebility Award with her project In vivo imaging technique for intra-operative recognition of nerve structures. She confessed, in an interview at the award ceremony, that taking part in the Lifebility Award had given her the opportunity to step forward, tackling and overcoming challenges she had never faced before in her scientific career. Congratulations to Paola and all the winners!
