A concrete commitment for the young: 45 million Euro from Corporate Foundations to make the nursery grow

Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in the prestige Zuccari Room of the Senate of the Republic, saw the presentation of the results of the first phase of the national study “Corporate Foundations for the young: how to make the nursery grow”, promoted by Bracco Foundation in collaboration with Fondazione Italiana Accenture, Fondazione Adecco per le Pari Opportunità, Fondazione De Agostini, Enel Cuore Onlus, Fondazione Umana Mente of Gruppo Allianz, UniCredit Foundation and Fondazione Vodafone Italia.

In the presence of the Minister of Labour and Social Policies Giuliano Poletti, of the President of the 11th permanent Commission on Labour and Social Security of the Senate Maurizio Sacconi, of the President of Bracco Foundation Diana Bracco, the director of the labour market and production systems area of the Istituto per la Ricerca Sociale Manuela Samek Lodovici, Francesco Ferrante of the AlmaLaurea Scientific Committee and Alberto Castori of Censis, a debate was held on the initiatives promoted by corporate foundations.

Of 48 foundations interviewed, as many as 172 projects of different kinds (training, job finding, research, culture and others) were implemented, and involved, directly or indirectly, about 40,000 young people throughout Italy, with a total of 45 million Euro invested between 2011 and 2014.

This was a preview of the research, in its initial mapping phase, to institutions and the press. The study will be presented in its entirety on May 20 at the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2015 Milan at the general assembly of the European Foundation Centre, the largest international philanthropy network.
