The Bracco Foundation and Department 5 of the Directorate General of Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation have joined forces to promote “progettoDiventerò nel Mondo”, the international edition of progettoDiventerò.
An agreement signed on December 18, 2024, by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Diana Bracco, Chair of the Bracco Foundation, enabled progettoDiventerò – our multi-year training program for young people – to cross national borders with the aim of promoting scientific culture and gender equality in STEM disciplines among Italian school students abroad.
Project aims:
The aims of progettoDiventerò nel Mondo are the following:
- To stimulate thinking about the importance of STEM subjects and encourage research
- To disseminate the principles of the Mind the STEM Gap Manifesto launched by the Bracco Foundation to promote gender-equal access to science
- To encourage young women as well as young men students to become Ambassadors for the promotion of gender equality
- To engender a sense of community belonging by training students in global citizenship
- To stimulate collaborative teaching
- To nurture the capacity for didactic innovation by building new learning paradigms
- To compile an online review of the content produced by the students.
Rules and Prizes:
Under the guidance of a teacher, each class or group of students, using the materials and following the instructions prescribed by the rules, will carry out the following activities:
- Translate into the language of their country the “Mind the STEM Gap Manifesto” on gender equality in scientific subjects;
- Identify, select and prepare a presentation on leading women from their country working in the STEM field;
- Complete an individual or group digital project on the theme of how STEM careers are of central importance for the society of the future.
There are three prizes: one for each level of school (primary, lower secondary and upper secondary). The prize is a voucher worth 1,000 euros for the purchase of teaching materials. Logistics permitting, the Bracco Foundation will also make a space available to the winning school to mount a photographic exhibition related to the STEM subjects and thus contribute to the culture that encourages girls and boys alike to pursue studies in this area.
First edition (2024-2025)
The first edition of the project, targeting students at all levels in Italian schools abroad, attracted broad participation: 10 schools, 35 classes, and 584 students took part.

The award ceremony took place in Paris, at the Leonardo da Vinci Institute, on November 12, 2025, when the new edition of the project was officially presented.
Second edition (2025-2026)
The second edition, which confirms the collaboration between Fondazione Bracco and MAECI, introduces an important new feature by extending participation to Italian sections in foreign, European, and international schools.
In this way, progettoDiventerò nel Mondo will also be able to reach the approximately 70 Italian language sections active on different continents, reinforcing the original objective of spreading Italian culture, scientific culture, and the values of gender equality in the global educational context.
