The Bracco Foundation is once again supporting the Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition, now in its 33rd edition. Instituted in 1959, the competition is being hosted in Seregno (Monza-Brianza), the native town of the illustrious Italian composer after whom the event is named. This is an international competition and an opportunity for musicians from all over the world.
At the end of a week of rehearsals and an exciting final evening held on Tuesday 3 October at the San Rocco Theatre in Seregno (during which the competitors performed with the accompaniment of the Milan Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andrea Oddone), the jury decided not to award a first-place prize.
The jurors (chair Emanuele Arciuli, Sa Chen, Katherine Chi, Alessandro Deljavan, Sofya Gulyak, Alexander Korsantia and Alexei Volodin) resolved instead to award a second-place prize to Vladimir Skomorokhov and Riito Shimata. The third prize went to Zixi Chen.
The jury also awarded a Special Prize to Antonio Alessandri for his “Diventrò” project, sponsored by the Bracco Foundation.
