The “La Scala Academy” at Expo Osaka for Italy’s National Day
On the occasion of Expo 2025 Osaka, the students of the Ballet School of the La Scala Academy will be the protagonists of the opening ceremony of Italy’s National Day, which will take place in Japan on September 12, 2025, on the stage of the Expo Hall “Shining Hat.” The event, at the heart of the day’s celebrations, will be attended by high-ranking Italian and Japanese institutional representatives, including the Minister of Culture of the Italian Republic, Alessandro Giuli, official guest of the Government of Japan.
Long committed to the education and professional training of young talents and to the promotion of Italian excellence abroad, Fondazione Bracco – a Founding Member of the La Scala Academy since 2012 – together with the Bracco Group will bring to the international stage of the Japanese exhibition a group of young dancers who will perform two contemporary choreographies of remarkable technical and interpretative complexity: La strada (Suite) by Mario Pistoni and Rossini Cards by Mauro Bigonzetti.
In addition to offering the young talents of the Ballet School an outstanding opportunity for artistic and personal growth, the initiative is perfectly aligned with the mission of the Italy Pavilion: to represent, through expressions of human genius, the best of Italian culture, creativity, innovation, and traditions within a global context.
As a Gold Sponsor of the Italy Pavilion, the Bracco Group reaffirms its commitment to culture as a means of fostering progress, societal development, and cooperation between nations.
Within the framework of this partnership, Fondazione Bracco has promoted a detailed scientific investigation of the portrait of Itō Mancio painted by Domenico Tintoretto, accompanied by an immersive video. This work – of great symbolic value – is part of the permanent exhibition of the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025. Discover the project below.
