Mind the stem Gap – Together” exhibition opens at the Civic Maritime Museum of Trieste
On Friday 6 March at 10.30 pm in the Lloyd multipurpose hall of the Maritime Museum of Trieste, a press conference will take place for the presentation of “Mind the STEM Gap – Together”, a display of posters challenging gender stereotypes.
Based on "Mind the STEM Gap” manifesto, through which the Bracco Foundation asserts its support for the principle that women must have access to STEM disciplines, the exhibition features a gallery of thought-provoking, colourful, and original posters produced by 150 school students that invite viewers to reflect on gender stereotypes, role models, and positive behavioural practices.
Having already toured several other venues, the exhibition has been brought to Trieste thanks to an agreement between the Bracco Foundation and the Maritime Museum. Its aim is to encourage reflection on the theme of equality and to remind the public that making the leap toward a fair society is everyone’s responsibility.
The meeting will be attended by: Giorgio Rossi, Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Trieste; Maurizio De Blasio, Head of the Department of Education and Family Policies of the Municipality of Trieste; Anna Longo, Chief Cultural Officer of the Scientific Museums of the Municipality of Trieste; Elisabetta Patti, Head of Cultural projects at the Bracco Foundation; and Serena Mizzan, President of the Immaginario Scientifico science centre. There event will also include a video message from Diana Bracco, Chair of the Bracco Foundation.
The exhibition runs from 6 March to 12 April 2026, from Wednesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Admission is free.
Every Sunday, starting from 8 March at 12:00, Immaginario Scientifico will present "Io ti conosco" [I Know You], an interactive game designed to challenge cultural perceptions and stereotypes.
To mark the first of these sessions and celebrate International Women’s Day, Serena Mizzan, President of Immaginario Scientifico, will personally lead a guided tour of the exhibition.
Through this initiative, the Bracco Foundation reaffirms its commitment to promoting gender equality and engaging younger generations in scientific culture by fostering access to STEM disciplines and encouraging young people to become drivers of change.
