Chairperson Diana Bracco
Diana Bracco is President of the Bracco Foundation, formed in 2010 from the heritage of values built up in more than 90 years of history of the Bracco family and Group.
Born in Milan, Diana Bracco is also President and Managing Director of the Bracco Group, a health sector multinational and world leader in image diagnostics with a consolidated turnover of more than €1.3 billion, 3300 employees and more than 1800 patents.
She is also President and Managing Director of the Centro Diagnostico Italiano, a full-service, prevention oriented polyclinic that is a point of reference for health in Lombardy.
She graduated in chemistry from the University of Pavia, where in 2001 she was also awarded an honoris causa degree in pharmacy. In 2004 the Rome Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore awarded her a degree in medicine.
Diana Bracco holds several appointments. She is Vice President of the Italy-China Foundation, President of the Confindustria Fondazione Mai and of the Fondazione Milano per Expo 2015. She is a member of the General Council of Assolombarda, the Association of Milanese entrepreneurs of which, from 2005 to 2009, she was the first woman president. She is also a council member of the Milan Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors of the Milan Bocconi University.
A lover of art, since 2012 she has been on the Board of Directors of La Scala Theatre Academy, in the past she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum and was the first Italian in history to become a member of the Trustee’s Council of theNational Gallery of Art di Washington (2011-2015).
Diana Bracco has been Vice President of Confindustria for Research and Innovation from 2008 to 2016. From 2007 to 2016, she has also served as President of the Sodalitas Foundation for the development of entrepreneurship in society. The organization was founded in 1995 by Assolombarda and an initial group of businesses and managers with the aim of promoting company sustainability in Italy.
She was also President of Expo 2015 SpA and General Section Commissioner for the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2015, contributing with energy and passion to the success of the event which, with 21 million visitors, one third of them from abroad, brought Italy back to the centre of world attention and also proved an extraordinary platform for business and cultural and social relationships.
Among the recognition she has received, in 2002 she was named Cavaliere del Lavoro and receive the gold medal of the Municipality of Milan; in 2004 she was named Cavaliere di Gran Croce “al merito della Repubblica”.
