Artainment@school is an educational project carried out by Artainment Worldwide Shows and Bracco Foundation, in accordance with the Lazio Regional Scholastic Office to publicise in schools a new method of publicising the artistic heritage. The project is developed in a dialogue with the show “Giudizio Universale. Michelangelo and the secrets of the Sistine Chapel”, which tells of one of the masterpieces of world art through the language of live theatre, exploiting emotion and involvement. The educational offer is multidisciplinary: historical, artistic, social and professional.
OBJECTIVES AND METHODOLOGY The innovation of Artainment@School is represented by the application of a new teaching method which, as happens in theatre, uses a mix of complementary tools, and a logic in digital, in a dialogue with a shared objective: to stimulate the active participation of young people. The final aim is that the students themselves become passionate advocates of the excellence of our artistic and cultural heritage, while at the same time developing soft skills useful for the future.
WHO CAN TAKE PART IN THE PROJECT For the school year 2017/2018 the project involves first-grade primary and secondary schools, students from 8 to 13, and second-grade secondary schools, students from 14 to 19 in the Lazio Region. The methods and content mean it can be part of the training offer plan (POF) of primary and secondary educational institutes.
The project is in three phases, theory (classroom teaching), participation and experience (watching the show) and practice (personal and creative reworking of what has been learned). It will allow the young people to incorporate a transverse way of learning and favour the acquisition of soft skills which are by now an essential component for their future study and growth.
In the practical phase the CALL FOR IDEAS "Beyond judgement", launched by Bracco foundation and USR Lazio and aimed at students from 14 to 19, promotes the production of a digital presentation or video prepared in class or group work to represent the reflections, knowledge and emotions the project has stimulated. The competition is aimed at grade 2 secondary educational institutes adhering to the Artainment@school project in the academic year 2017/2018. Participation is free, and classes taking part in one or more phases of the overall Artainment@school project can take part. There will be prizes for the first three classes or groups classified as described in the competition rules.
