The “Leonardo and Madonna Litta” exhibition at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum

For the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, the exhibition “Leonardo and Madonna Litta” (November 7, 2019 - February 10, 2020) at the Poldi Pezzoli museum in Milan brings back to the city after almost 30 years and Italian masterpiece preserved at the St Petersburg Hermitage Museum. The exhibition is organised with the support of Bracco Foundation as Main Partner, flanked by the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan.

    La mostra "Una vita da scienziata" fa parte dell'iniziativa "100 donne contro gli stereotipi", ideato nel 2016 dall'Osservatorio di Pavia e dall'Associazione Gi.U.Li.A, sviluppato da Fondazione Bracco, grazie al supporto della Rappresentanza della Commissione europea in Italia. Le donne sono raramente consultate dai media come esperte e la serie di ritratti del celebre fotografo Gerald Bruneau, intendono contribuire a superare il pregiudizio spesso associato al lavoro delle donne nella scienza e nella tecnologia e di avvicinare il grande pubblico alle loro conquiste.

    "Questa mostra mette in luce le competenze femminili italiane nella scienza, tecnologia, ingegneria e matematica come elemento chiave per la crescita e il progresso e come forza trainante delle relazioni bilaterali tra Italia e Stati Uniti. Apre una finestra sulla vita quotidiana di donne italiane - biologhe, chimiche, ingegneri, astrofisiche, matematiche, chirurghe e informatiche- che, attraverso il loro lavoro e le loro conquiste, stanno promuovendo il cambiamento culturale necessario per garantire che la parità di genere sia raggiunta in ogni settore della società " ha affermato l'Ambasciatore Armando Varricchio.
